Color Play series
Painted Aluminum on Steel

Abstract Objective
I suspend a mirror directly above the piece, the idea being that the viewer can look up into the mirror and see a 'painting' on the canvas/paper below.

The piece is titled, 'Abstract Objective', a polyptych sculpture assembly that creates a painting from its top-down view. Line, form, and colour being the elements for creating an abstract painting/sculpture.. (form and colour for me, the line is in the form)..  I first thought of the colour pieces falling to the canvas, but then the suspension of it was as if they were held in limbo awaiting the complete act. Ultimately, the viewer completes the piece as they look into the mirror, thereby assisting or collaborating with the creation of the piece.
